...and I think at least the vast majority of it is.

The biggest issue I see is that technology is now progressing at a much faster rate than culture could ever hope to. Essentially, we're no longer searching for solutions to mankind's problems, solutions are coming at us in a torrent and we're trying to positively apply them to current and foreseeable issues.

There's a whole lot of potential there...for both benefit and harm.

Numbers often say what you want them to say. Look at the total number of internet users per country, and we are at the top (at least in this statistical analysis).

Think about the geographical area of our country in comparison with the others. We have a much larger infrastructure to build, and it is happening very quickly.
