Dave Neiwert calls for massive boycott:
In his book "How Hate Talk Radicalized the American Right" Neiwert concludes that the only effect way to silence the right wing propagandist who are spreading hated that has divided the nation is a boycott of their sponsors.

I have time and time again said that if Democrats really despise what has happened to our nation then they should use the most effective measure to shut the lying mouths of the Limbaughs, Hannitys, O'Reillys, etc. The recent boycott against the sponsors' of Beck have shown that this is the only way since the major news sources refuse to refute this bastards. In fact, they provide them with a degree of credibility by including them on national TV shows rather than condemning them out right for their damnable lies.

1. Accountability. Hold sponsors accountable for what they make possible on air
Yep.

2. Eh, that requires so much effort.
Hey, have you seen the fall TV schedule?

And free pie on Wednesdays at Village Inn! Mmmmm.

3. Yes, it would require Democrats to actually take a firm stance.
Seems to me we just want of bitch and bitch about these right wing liars. If DU would actually sponsor this they could be taken down.

4. Yep
I've gone to ignore mode. I just don't talk about these people. But this is a much better approach.

5. We could actually do a lot more if we organized.
Union labor could create havok if they shut down for a week. Imagine if truckers quit hauling freight. Every store in America would feel the pinch. I know most truckers are Independents but they rely on Union labor such as longshoremen or similar Unions. Most don't load and unload their own rigs.

6. Has Beck lost his forum yet? I haven't kept up.
It seems that in America any kind of fame, or infamy, guarantees TV time. Is he out of his show yet, or is Fox still holding on to him?

7. I do my part
I have a retail store and have completely stopped advertising on the local radio station specifically because of the right-wing claptrap they broadcast most of the day. They have tried to persuade me to advertise during times when they don't have the nutjobs on the air, but I told them that I won't as long as their station needs to use my advertising dollars to pay Hammity, Limpballs, et al.

8. "Defund the Right"
Why not? They were the ones who had a goal to "defund the left" all through the 70's, 80's and 90's.
