Indicates she'll be getting 6 figures for her paid speeches.

Can anyone imagine paying over 100K to bring her in as a speaker? She ain't exactly a rocket scientist, so the only thing I can figure is they hope she drops her top or something.

10. absolutely.
It's so obvious. I can't blame her -- givin' a coupla' speeches to your base must be a lot easier than actually governing.

26. 20% of the people in America are so wacked-out they are talking about revolution.
They bring guns to Obama's speeches. They shout down Congressmen & women in town hall meetings. They think Obama wants to pull the plug on Grandma. They think Obama is a Kenyan, Muslim, communist, Stalinist terrorist. They think he wants to steal their guns. They think healthcare reform is 'reparations'.

Among that 20%, Palin is the overwhelming favorite for 2012. She feeds their fears and gets them all excited. That 20% will vote in the primaries. If she wins the nomination and the economy doesn't improve, or god forbid get worse, she might just become President.

If that doesn't scare you, I don't know what would. An inexperienced, crowd exciting beauty queen with a secessionist husband as President of the US. Paris Hilton would be less scary. At least she doesn't have a secessionist husband, and she speaks in actual sentences.

6. Guess everyone loves a Quitter
Seriously, what on this earth does she have to offer anyone - enough to pay to hear her talk?

I can't see her on the Motivational Speech circuit -she quit every professional level position she held. I guess people are dying to hear about her 2+ months on the V.P. campaign trail. Either that or her experience as a Mommy.

Really, I can't think of anything the woman could do that would warrant paying even $100. She stands for everything I despise.

12. Damn...the stupid hurts...
I am amazed on a daily basis how many stupid and ignorant people there really are in this country. Thousands are willing to Pay Sarah Palin to speak. OMG! Then again, maybe I should not be surprised...To fix that we must first improve education, re-regulate the media and work on 100% publicly funded elections. That is tall order...Until then, we are all captives of the corporations and the damage they have caused over the last century.

13. "Get butts in the seats, make some money off it."
That's what this is about. People will show up either because they're right wing ideologues or they're curious, but they will show up.

What this ignorant, provincial and utterly witless woman says isn't that important--no one will understand it, anyway.

Being there is important for the type of people who will pay to see the spectacle and that's what the promoters are counting on.

She gives the old white guys in the neocon base woodys. That is why Fox noise has pole dancers reading the news all day long. The christofascist neocon base gets off on this stuff. As we know, it certainly can't be for anything in her mind that could be taken seriously.

17. Consider this to be the semi-official announcement of her Presidential Candidacy in 2012.

That is what this really means. It is a way for her to raise funds and show her popularity to possible donors.

Meanwhile, the news is that she is visiting Asia, so somebody is grooming her for something. It would be interesting to find out now who is paying for it.

29. If she shows up for this,
she will certainly be breaking a recent pattern -- but the six-figure appearance fee just might draw her out. No one up here has a clue where she's been for some time now -- getting some "work" done perhaps -- and she thoroughly dissed the Alaska Family Council just a few nights ago http://community.adn.com/adn/node/143203 . Probably when she learned it wasn't a fundraiser for HER benefit, she decided it wasn't worth her time.
