1. Maybe, just maybe, IF Democrats stood up and stopped reelecting the traitors who
sell us out to the pukes, the party would return to its Democratic roots.

But, as long as they are supported with votes and dollars, they have no reason to change their loyalty away from the corporations who own them.

We keep voting for any cretin pretending to be a "D" but expect them to actually change their behavior. We voters are the insane ones, not the politicians we elect.

2. If Colorado is a bellweather ...
... then, unless things change, Democrats will likely lose control of both the Senate and House in 2010.

Not because the Repugs are experiencing a resurgence, but because the Democratic base is going to stay home in big numbers.

After all what is the point of going out and working and voting for "change" if all we are going to get is 'cautious centerism'.

3. Nail hit precisely.
As a Coloradoan, the apointment of Bennet seemed at the time as a logical choice. He however has fallen squarely into the "blue dog" catagory. Voting against Bankuptcy reform citing "cramdown" as the reason.(he was influenced by industry hacks and their money flows to him unchecked.

Udall on the other hand ran as a leftist. Angering Republicans at every turn. embracing the "boulder liberal" mantra. However since bieng in congress he has aligned with McCain of all people. Just last week he and McCain talked about the "need" for Nuke power. without addressing weather or not he would keep the spent fuel in his basement...

Both of them are listening and siding with republicans more and more. Claiming "constituent input" as their reasoning. when it is groups like the Republicans and Focus on the family that are attending their meetings and flooding their phone lines with the right wing BS.

One wonders if they know how to differentiate between the right and left politically.

4. Yeah, it's a bitch ain't it?? We get out the D vote and we get Clinton...........
.........Carter, or the "Black Clinton", we stay home and don't get out the D vote, we get "Bushed". What I want when I vote "D", is somebody like FDR, Truman, or LBJ, NOT somebody like Bill Clinton.

5. Not necessarily. What it means is that we withhold
money from candidates that don't deserve it because their actions don't reflect the desires of their constituents. The money, instead, is given to support an alternate candidate, who can still be a democrat, but someone who can stand a challenge. We have the money they want. This isn't a new idea, it's how Obama won the presidency. What it means for us is that we have to get out there and find a candidate and do the leg work and the phonebanking. It's OUR money they want, make'em work for it. They're not rock stars, they're paid Public Servants.

send a nasty message to Markey regarding her nonsense about cutting Medicare to pay for health care reform.

9. Clark County Gop Denies Generating Email On Reid Healthcare Rally Today
I can't start a new post yet so I wasn't sure where to post this, here goes:

NV Senator Harry Reid is holding a pro healthcare reform rally at the UNLV campus today at 5 PM,so apparently the Clark County GOP knowing that a Tea Party Express rally of 100s of teabaggers is in Las Vegas today, has sent out an email urging protesters to falsely represent themselves as students to get into the rally & disrupt it.

http://www.lvrj.com/blogs/politics/Clark_County_GOP_denies_generating_email_on_Reid_rally.html

Text of the news story (Notice that the GOP misspells the word enlightened in their email, that figures)

Clark County GOP denies generating email on Reid rally
Posted by Janet Murphy
Monday, Aug. 31, 2009 at 10:10 AM

A Clark County Republican official denies his organization originated an e-mail urging protesters to represent themselves as students to get into an event with Sen. Harry Reid, D-Nev., at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. But the official didn't denounce using a ruse to infiltrate such an event either.

On Monday, Frank Ricotta, Coalition Director for the Clark County Republican Party, said, "I don't know who generated that e-mail."

But Ricotta did acknowledge it may have been passed on by someone in the party.

"Do we forward things sometimes? Yes," Ricotta said.

When asked whether there were any second thoughts about forwarding an e-mail that seems to encourage people to say they are students to get into the event tonight, Ricotta changed the subject and asked the Review-Journal how it had obtained a copy.

He did say he would seek to find out who originated the e-mail and call back when he finds an answer.

It's moot at this point, anyway.

Reid's rally in support of health care reform is at 5 tonight and the room is full, meaning it is too late for new people to get in, student or not.

Here's the text of the e-mail, which was forwarded and contained a logo from the Clark County Republican Party. The copy below is exactly as it appeared originally, misspellings included:

"Subj: HARRY REID TOWN HALL MEETING- CALL AND RSVP

YOU NEED TO CALL TO RSVP

"EVERYONE,there is a rally for Sen. Harry Reid on Monday, August 31st@ 5:00pm at the Student Union. We NEED to be there! Here's how to get in...
Contact the Democratic Party at (702)737-8683 or email rsvp@nvdems.com to RSVP. Make sure that when you RSVP, to say that you are a student. Thank you."

PASS THIS MESSAGE ON TO ALL

Hide-a-way Harry is holding an unpublized Health Care indoctrination at the UNLV Student Union this Monday from 5-8pm. It is open to the public. We probably should have some concerned citizens ask some inlightening questions.
