Beck: Election was really a coup
Though he's been losing advertisers due to a boycott lately, Fox News' Glenn Beck hasn't let that stop him. Instead, he's doubled down on his usual act, hosting a full week of over-the-top conspiracism last week, and has been rewarded with some pretty stellar ratings.

Now, he's gone even further. On his radio show Monday, Beck had this to say:

Let me give you the last piece of evidence that there is a revolution going on, and it is coming. It is -- there is a revolution, and they think they can get away with it quietly.

They think they -- and they -- they -- you know what? At this point, gang, I'm not sure, they may be able to because they are so far ahead of us. They know what they're dealing against; most of America does not yet. Most of America doesn't have a clue as to what's going on. There is a coup going on. There is a stealing of America, and the way it is done, it has been done through the -- the guise of an election, but they lied to us the entire time.

I think he's really lost it this time.

19. Not so much projection as pre-rationalization
See, if power was "stolen" from Beck and the elites he loves so much, then they're perfectly within their rights to steal it back. Now, of course, stealing elections is pretty unamerican and very much against the constitution, but older statutes can be appealed to, such as "turnabout is fair play." If Beck can convince his numbskull audience that they're the victims of a colossal theft, they can be commanded to reappropriate power to its rightful owners: the GOPosaur party of Rush Limbaugh, Newt Gingrich and Dick Cheney.

8. Beck hasn't "lost it"...he's just rolling the dice.
As we continue to "dumb down" as a populace, we're exponentially more susceptible to charismatic "leaders".

Beck is betting that there are enough people that want to listen to him to justify his salary. It's that simple.

We had a revolution, and the result was electing Obama fair and square.

We are on to other revolutions now.

It's not stealing when you take back that which was taken from you. BushCo took a lot; we're taking back America.

I'm sick of him, and his unwashed minority.

13. That's funny. I listened to his radio show back in the days when bush
stole the presidency and I don't remember him saying anything about that. He did rail a bit later against the government getting involved in the Terri Schiavo case, IIRC. But nothing about bush stealing the election. I guess now that his $millions are being paid by Obama's opposition he's all about dreaming up an Obama coup while still not recognizing the actual one that took place in 2000.

15. Where in the hell was Beck during BushCo...
...when Bush took the Constitution in his hands, wadded it up and then threw
it in a meat grinder?

Bush and Co issued the Patriot Act--which actually does step on our rights
and erodes our democracy.

It was Bush that decided to illegally wiretap us and break the law by going
around the FISA courts. Bush didn't need to follow the law, he just needed to
listen in on our conversations.

It was Bush who stripped away Habeas Corpus.

It was Bush who violated the Geneva Conventions and decided to torture people.

Glenn Beck. STFU. You don't give a shit about the Constitution or about
democracy. You stood by--cheerleading every unConstitutional move that BushCo
made. You were FOR the democracy-eroding policies, before you were against them.

Glenn Beck is a dry-drunk clown who makes absolutely no sense.

25. This is typical conservative BS, but the problem is it works on his listeners
Remember the 2004 GOP Convention where people were mocking Kerry, a true war hero, by wearing band-aids with purple hearts on them while simultaneously cheering for 4 more years for two chicken hawks?
Saying anything bad about Bush trampling the Constitution made you unpatriotic.
Studies show that southern conservative states are far ahead of northern liberals on taking tax money, having children out of wedlock, pornography consumption, living together before marriage, and a host of other things bemoaned by conservatives, yet they're solid family-values types, and the north are godless tax-and-spend liberals.

And the reason they do this is they know what they're really like, but by projecting all their faults onto their opponents and doing it early, even if the other guy comes back with simple but insightful soundbites, easily digested by their reptilian brains that would convince normal folks of the truth, the Becks, Limbaughs, Hannities, et. al. can all say, "Oh, that's really mature. So-and-so, who we've already reported to you is a *fill-in-the-blank* is now saying our guy is a *fill-in-the-blank.* What is this grade school? Can't he even come up with something original?"

Beck and his ilk are going after the crazies because that's what the GOP has left. They're already still stunned that a liberal (by their standards) Black man is in charge that many of them are reduced to tears about it (go to youtube and look for the film Nancy Pelosi's daughter did about the election to see some Southern Bubbas crying over the prospect of a white man not being elected). Obama hasn't even had time to do much of anything, and from I've seen, a lot of things he's done has had a short term positive effect like Cash for Clunkers and even the bank bail-outs are bearing some fruit, but according to these nutjobs, he's probably had time to secretly go to every public school in the country to hold assemblies where he tries to turn everyone's children into homosexuals. "That's why Jimmy Joe Bob Reagan Clyde Jr. don't want to play no football this year! Obama dun turned him gay!"

29. He's an actor ~
As long as he can get people to tune in that's all they care about.

Ignoring now that his advertisers have deserted him, is the best way to deal with him imho. I stopped watching CNN because they hired him. They kept him on too despite the fact that his audience was so small they were losing money. In the end they had to let him go and predictably he ended up on Fox.

The same thing will happen there as soon as people who do not like him, stop watching just to see what he's saying. That's what they want.

He's sick, and it's cruel to even look at him, just as it would be to stare at someone on the street who was clearly in need of help, not in need of being made a spectacle of.

That's what they want.

I'm also hearing that the reason why Beck continues to run off at the mouth is because those advertisers have not pulled their advertising from Faux. They're simply not backing his show. As long as they continue to advertise on Fox in general, Beck comes out unscathed. That's why he continues on with this filth! He's not really being harmed at all by this.

But Beck has a gig on Faux!

I don't care if he is laughing all the way to bank, or crying as the case may be, or if he believes every word he says. The end result is the same, a climate of fear and anxiety fomented to bring about some sort of revolution. Never mind it would be a revolution against the majority of Americans.

He is either nuts, or evil. Am I wrong in thinking the options are that black and white?
