Health care Reform: We cannot let them win.
Edited on Mon Aug-31-09 03:51 PM by YOY
Every time I turn on the new, every time I open the paper, shit...everytime I open the internet I see another right-wing lie.

We cannot let them win.

Some of these lies are far-fetched...others so far-fetched they make creationism seem plausible. Someone is pouring a ton of money into the misinformation machine. We can pretty much guess who it is...but there is one bottom line. These are all lies. They are not even the simple opposite of truth as truth is a matter of perspective. They are non-factual ugly misleading lies purposefully said to mislead people who have already been so mislead that they are willing to believe anything in order to escape from admitting reality.

We cannot let them win.

How else can the facts of HC reform not come to bear if we cannot bring them about? They won't. THe lies and misinformation will sit there in victory with smug little looks on their mugs saying things like: "Told you so!" and "We just saved your lives!!!" They'll become cemented as "truth".

We cannot let them win.

History is written by the victors.

We cannot let them win.

We need reform.

We cannot let them win.

1. All they have is fear. The facts are on our side.
The overwhelming majority of Americans know that the health-care system in the country is broken. We just need to convince our Senators that they'd have our best interests at heart with the public option.

And if they don't vote in the interest of their constituents--that's us, The People--we'll vote for real reformers at mid-terms.

3. Use Reconciliation
we don't need the republicans... fuck them all. Let them once again be on the side of the rich man, the wrong side of history.

4. Exactly. Force them to vote against a good bill.
Don't keep watering down the damn bill until it's a reform in name only.

I can't believe we're still trying this Clintonian "third way" bullshit. :banghead:

6. I have a good feeling we will get a Public Option
and it might just be in the form of Medicare being expanded. All we need to do is make Medicare's funds untouchable.

8. Obama can't afford to have a failure on this . . .
and if anything like that would happen despite demonstrations by

those who want MEDICARE FOR ALL, then I'd say it should break up the

GOP completely next time around!!!

Obama is either going to be hero or failure here -- and the complications

as to which force -- citizens or corporations -- he's more worried about

is hard to say. The wealthy elites have a powerful lot to lose and will go

to any lengths to stop it!
