Mark Sanford is an amateur erotic author compared to the Secretary of Education he appointed!

Bridgett Maguire, an Upstate evangelical and one of South Carolina’s most respected social conservatives, has been one of the governor’s closest education policy advisor's for years. She’s also Sanford’s appointment to the S.C. Board of Education, which last year elected her its Chairwoman.

The prolific author of hardcore erotic fiction on the Internet, according to documents provided to the governor’s office earlier this summer and later obtained by FITS.

Maguire, a professed Christian who home-schools her four children, declined to comment for our story but did not deny that she had previously frequented websites that feature such X-rated material. Maguire believes that a former friend is leaking the information to the media in an effort to ruin her political career.

FITS was able to use conversations in various Internet chat rooms, however, to link at least two “erotic stories” to Maguire’s alleged pen name, “Bridget Keeney.” From there, numerous similarities between “Bridget” and Maguire emerged, including commonalities in age, geographic location, engineering background, hobbies (knitting, for example) and number of children. One comment left in an erotic chat room by “Bridget” even reveals the name of a professor who was at Clemson University’s College of Engineering at the time when Maguire was a student there, while another comment references a specific medical procedure that Maguire underwent several years ago.

FITS news has been right about the Sanford scandals. He worked for Sanford and has many contacts in SC government. It is as reliable as anything else I have read in this state.

As for believable?? What if I told you the story about a RW Governor who was a possible candidate for president with a wife and 4 sons. Suddenly he can't be found and nobody in the state knows where he is. They say he is hiking the Appalachian Trail. It turns out he was in Argentina with his mistress breaking off the affair that his wife and spiritual adviser Cubby knew all about. Sounds far fetched huh?

Ms. Maguire is free to write whatever she wants. Obviously, the fact that she writes erotica in the midst of the Bible Belt is fairly interesting, but she's an adult, it's her right.

I am a romance author. I write under a pseudonym. I do not write erotica, but frankly, any author in this industry risks having his or her work dug up and mocked. I'm not ashamed of what I do, but there are family members who do not approve. That's their problem.
