Those Republicans shut down dissent among their own so fast
Think about the sway of Dick Cheney (a discredited vice president now out of office) on Republicans of all stripes and how well it shuts down criticism of him. When criticism from Republicans actually gets through I watch with amazement at how the "offender" quickly backtracks. I just don't get it.

Meanwhile, Democrats say whatever they want, take on the president (who is popular and in office) and almost never have to backtrack.

I don't get it. :wtf:

3. Democrats can survive as a party with dissent in the ranks.
The GOP is nothing without loyalty.

5. Too many Dems backtrack whenever Rush says "Boo"
Dick Durbin comes to mind first, but almost all of them have done it. Pisses me off royally.

4. Should single-payer dissent be shut down?
The Repuglican Party is full of people (fewer and fewer people everyday) who love authoritarianism. They don't have to be pressured much to adhere strictly to the "party line."

The problem for Democrats these days is that President Obama has not, for instance on the health care issue, put forth a clear, unambiguous proposal that will thrill the base of his party.

If he ever gets around to doing that, then you'll see criticism of Obama from Democrats evaporate.

And, by the way, he'll become very popular if he listens to the dissenters and goes for single-payer.

Ridge Downplays Terror Alert Story
August 31, 2009, 3:58PM

Former Homeland Security Secretary Tom Ridge said today he was not pressured to raise the threat level days before the 2004 elections, despite writing in a new book that Attorney General John Ashcroft and Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld "strongly urged" him to do so.

8. You gotta wonder what "they" have on these people?
I guess all that wiretapping can come in real handy at times?

I wonder what happens to the ones who refuse to walk in lockstep?
