Carrie Prejean Sues Pageant For Religious Discrimination
Source: The Huffington Post

LOS ANGELES — Former Miss California USA Carrie Prejean sued pageant officials Monday for libel, slander and religious discrimination, accusing them of telling her to stop mentioning God even before her controversial remarks against gay marriage.

Prejean sued California pageant executive director Keith Lewis and actress and former Miss USA Shanna Moakler, who served as a co-director before resigning in protest of Prejean.

Prejean was fired in June by pageant officials who said she missed several scheduled appearances.

Her attorney, Chuck LiMandri, said that wasn't true, and Prejean was ousted because of controversial remarks in April during the Miss USA pageant that marriage should be between a man and a woman.

36. Which may be her argument
If she can show a tradition of god being mentioned (albeit in a less fervent manner) AND she has some kind of evidence to back up her claim that she was told not to follow this tradition, that could be one plank of her argument.

And then she also has to prove that she did show up at whatever functions she was supposed to be at, or whatever her duties were supposed to be. That will be the more important argument, in my opinion. It will all come down to timeline, and which side has the most compelling evidence.

38. Perhaps they saw she had an axe to grind
Assuming for the sake of argument that they did stifle her, they might have perceived that her references to god would not stop at the lip service that most of the vapid beauties spout off. People watching a pageant don't mind having a contestant mouth off meaningless religious platitudes, but they don't want somebody to start preaching at them. IF it happened the way she says, it's because the producers know their audience and they are attempting to produce a show that will appeal to that group.

Strange, I would think some right-wing outfit would find a place for her. Did the "naughty" photos do her in in finding employment with a conservative religious organization?

have dropped her like a hot potato.

And because her boob flashing violated pageant rules, she uses the typical repuke attack of using a bullshit argument to whine about her plight of being stupid.

Do they mean "opposite marriage"? I thought the opposite of marriage was divorce.

Queen Esther didn't file frivolous lawsuits. Carrie, just save yourself a lot of trouble--drop the lawsuit and go ahead and pose for Playboy now. You know you'll end up there eventually.

31. Just for the record, since no one has mentioned it,
(maybe because it's too obvious) - she wasn't dethroned over religion, she was dethroned over breach of contract. She found herself too busy with being the pro-traditional-marriage poster child to bother with her duties.

You can help protect the institution of marriage - stop people from getting divorced!

Faux News actually does something good for a change.

This is Prejean arguing with Keith Lewis, who had the unmitigated gall to try and set up some meetings for her with TV shows.

(Start at the BOTTOM and read the e-mails UP to get the time sequence right. Otherwise they won't make much sense.)

Prejean clearly doesn't understand how the entertainment industry works, or much of anything else.

When Lewis tries to help her out, she gets suspicious, then hostile. And she's always arrogant, with that "I'm the star and you're just my underling" tone.

In fact, after conducting extensive interviews with the flora in my neighborhood, both deciduous and evergreen, I'm prepared to state unequivocally that the woman is dumber than a stump.

e.g., she clearly doesn't understand the meaning of "facilitate:"

LEWIS: As we have discussed, there is proper protocol and we have not waived our rights in any way to your contract. I am happy to try and facilitate the request...

PREJEAN: What are u gonna do fire me for volunteering for the special olympics hahaha ur crazy No I am doing this appearance...

You will not facilitate this appearance

One of the wiseasses at Jezebel.com summed that up by saying: "Stop facilitating me, you monster!"
