Why did he even hint at this subject if he wasn't prepared to follow through with it? Why would he even go on Rachel's show knowing she would work to examine the subject?

To some of us this was rather transparent. In fact it seemed so much so that we even became comical about it on this forum. And in retrospect it's hard to even think of what may have constituted reason for raising a threat level. Especially given they didn't even care about catching Osama Bin Number One Wanted Man in the country.
