I also don't ever recall any former administration officials sending their daughters out to defend them

The Bush Regime decided to invade Iraq on Jan 21, 2001. They spent to next 8 months trying to figure out how to do it without getting their ass handed to them in the 2002 midterms & ignoring every other threat coming at us.

Then they were gifted 9/11. That gave them everything they needed to drum up support for taking out Saddam - it just delayed it by a year.
