2. Depending on the age of the kids, the parents should be notified first.

5. I'm not seeing racism at all
Is any challenge to Obama now racist?

I don't think he should do it, personally. I think it's a bad precedent.

6. What exactly is racist about it?
Making out any criticism of Obama to be racist makes you look like you do absolutely no critical thinking.

For the record... The days of pimping racial grievances are over. The United States just elected a leader who does not share the pigmentation of its majority voting population - the only nation EVER to do so.

So get over whatever hangup you got. If you see racism in that poll question, the problem is in whatever in your brain is causing it to assign race as a motivating factor in completely unrelated situations.

7. That's not racist
"Should the United States President be allowed to do a nationwide address to our children at school, without prior parental consent? "

It's a stupid poll, but there is nothing racist about it. It could be that the poster is anti-democratic. You could throw a picture of Bush in there and most of DU would have voted no.

Look, something that suggests a possible negative perspective + Obama =/= racism.

8. I don't want to open a facebook account.
Can someone post what the results are so far?

As far as it being racist. I think I see what the OP is getting at. The point is, why is this question being raised? Why should parental consent be necessary for a child to see a Presidential address?

The answer, in the OP's mind, is that some parents are paranoid about a black man with a funny name addressing their children.

Of course, it may have nothing to do with race, they may just object to an evil librul trying to brainwash their children. The only problem with this interpretation is that I don't recall parents ever trying to protect their children from Clinton or Carter. So I can see where race (or at least funny names) might be a factor here.

9. Unless they changed the question, it's not even remotely racist.

12. Well, like I said, I believe that
it might (emphasized might) be a factor - at least for some of the parents. That said, although I'm not that familiar with Facebook, I find it a little hard to believe that it's the MOST racist poll ever on Facebook. It's arguable that it's racist at all.
