BREAKING: Blue Dog made to look like schmuck on Hardball
Blue Dog Democrat Arcuri needed a liberal Democrat to save his ass on Hardball right now. He realized Matthews painted his sorry butt into a corner and had that famous deer-in-the-headlights look. Matthews showed a clip of President Clinton stating basically, 'if we don't pass healthcare, we will pay a price, the Republicans will have their issue to defeat us' of course we know what happened. We lost seats. Lots of them. Arcuri kept mumbling about 'the best bill we can pass' and Matthews said, if you don't pass a bill, Americans will say, Democrats can't govern. And he kept mumbling and stuttering and looked like an ineffective, conservative scaredy cat.

Fattah stated definitively there would be a Public Option. "We're gonna HAVE a Public Option in this bill' and had to jump in to help him out. Of course Arcuri stated he's not married to the public option, but was made to look into a mirror at how his obstructionism would hurt the party, and the long look into the future made him seem more concerned about his job than the country.

It was pretty sweet.

5. That's right, King is a caricature, people take Arcuri seriously, so Arcuri is far worse.

2. I had a different opinion

I saw him as saying that his position as a 'blue dog' has been misrepresented as being specifically against the public option.

He said that there were other concerns including employer mandates on small businesses and others that he and some others wanted and that these were accepted.

BTW the particular point of the blue dogs insisting that more should be put on preventative care and more emphasis on outcomes made the bill not only better but also more liberal.

6. As I see it preventative care would include outlawing the
poisons put in so called food that comes from a grocery store.
Like high fructose corn syrup that is in EVERYTHING, then you have hydrolyzed or hydrogenated corn, safflower, peanut, canola etc oils and cotton seed oil at all. If I cannot pronounce it I ain't a eatin it!
I was overweight years ago, Dr said you have to get some of this off. I eventually lost 90 pounds and have stayed about 15 pounds of my normal some times lower some times up to 15 over..hard to do with my health to keep my weight dead on.

I started by eliminating or almost eliminating high fructose corn syrup, I don't do so called diet soda. I keep my intake of other processed sugars way down.
I use mostly raw unfiltered honey, I have it in my 2 cups of coffee in the morning , most of the day I drink plain water, some times at lunch I will have iced tea or a coke, maybe once a week, and 2 glasses of red wine in the evening some times.
I cut fat intake, I get beef from a local farmer that raises only grassfed, no hormones or antibiotics. I get local eggs, from our next door neighbor for the most part, that is when his chickens are laying. We have a bit of a garden, not as much as last year since I was sick at planting time.

I also exercised more, rode my bike, did weights and cut portion sizes and did not eat any closer to bedtime than about 2 hrs.

I will now and then have a store bought cake or a candy bar, the key I think is some exercise and an exercise of moderation.

I was border line diabetic I am find now and my bp, cholesterol is pretty good, it is some high due to my hiv meds.

We eat too much garbage.
