The "ghost" of Dick Cheney was at my meeting tonight

Our bowling meeting was tonight,, about 150 people at the meeting & since our president moved, we elevated our veep to president..''then we had to elect her replacement..
I am the sec-treas, and contrary to Robert's Rules of Order, I run the show:)

anyway..NO ONE would volunteer or even accept the nomination..

I implored them..told them the job is a nothing job..there are no tasks.. just need to have their name on the bank account,.,

cue crickets..nothing..

Then I reminded them that even a guy like Dick Cheney accepted the vice presidency and I was not even asking to have someone shot in the face..

laughter..

and a volunteer..finally..

Ken stepped up and said he would do it.. as long as no one ever called him "Dick"..

God.. I love our meetings.. we touch the "3rd-rail" stuff too, like points forfeited .....with good humor and no arguing..and we always end up with people still being friends..

and then we bowl.. & drink beer
