Pete Hamill, on "Morning Joe," is exactly right
He was commenting on the historically low approval ratings of the Congress.

Hamill said that the Republicans are the party of "no." And that people fall asleep when Harry Reid opens his mouth, and go do the dishes when Nancy Pelosi appears.

I think that is exactly right.

There should be new elections for congressional leaders. May I suggest Russ Feingold, or perhaps Sherrod Brown, for Senate majority leader, and perhaps Barney Frank for Speaker Of The House?

We need leaders with spunk, whether Mr. Grant likes it or not.

1. We most unfortunately are mostly entirely bereft of truly representative
leadership and have been for a very long time.

I recently heard Reid described as "Clark Kent without a phone booth." Pelosi clearly has more than a few compromised interests.

I'm still hopeful about Obama though. He's up against some truly onerous forces. I hope he'll surprise us all ultimately.

2. I had belief in the President
Now, I guess I'm down to hope. He better show some leadership soon. or they'll be picking at his bones. :(

4. They are both at best ineffective...
..at their worst they are reprehensible in their willful negligence.

We need new leadership. There is just now way a party with large majorities in both chambers should be flailing and floundering like we are.
