Obama photo evokes Kennedy moment

Mr Kennedy and Mr Obama both brought young children to the White House
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/americas/8235356.stm

The US White House has released a photograph of President Barack Obama's daughter Sasha sneaking up on her father as he works in the Oval Office.

The image has drawn comparisons with the famous 1963 image of John F Kennedy Jnr playing underneath the Oval Office desk as his father reads documents.
That picture helped create the image of "Camelot" associated with the Kennedys.

Mr Obama has said being able to work and live at home is "one of the huge benefits of being president".

The photograph, taken in early August and released through the official White House Flickr website, shows eight-year-old Sasha Obama sneaking up on her father from behind a sofa as he reads at the desk.

10. President Roosevelt
Roosevelt had the door installed to cover up his wheelchair.
(I think he died before it was finished, though...)

11. Here is the story of the panel.
President Franklin D. Roosevelt ordered a hinged front panel in order to hide his wheelchair.<3> The panel was commissioned in 1944 but was not delivered until 1945, following Roosevelt's death. President Truman had the panel installed anyway. The panel features the presidential seal—one of only four in the White House that have the eagle's head turned towards the 13 arrows in the eagle's left talon, as opposed to the now-official arrangement with the eagle turned towards the olive branch in the right talon with the 13 leaves.

12. amazing how FDR had to hide his disability nt
I still don't understand why it swung on a hinge, instead of just a panel.

7. I don't think they are staged.
The white house photographer is always around.

The Kennedy pict was taken when Jackie was away, I read she didn't want the kids photographed too much.

The pict with President Obama looks like a playful girl trying to sneak up on her dad, to walk 'home' with him at the end of the day.

The only part that could be 'staged' is President Obama pretending not to notice his daughter, for the sake of her being able to play out the joke. It looks like they all have a great sense of humor.

8. Terrible, terrible, terrible
All the FOX news talking heads cluck, as they castigate Obama for supporting those "work at home" scams.
