Disney Wonder Cruise Ship Rescues Passenger and it’s Twittered
by John Frost

It was high drama on the high seas last night as the Disney Wonder rescued a guest who fell off the Carnival Cruise Line ship the Sensation. At the completion of its trip, the Carnival Sensation was heading into Port Canaveral when the man fell off the ship somehow. He treaded water for about an hour until the Disney Wonder, also heading into the port, found and rescued him. His condition is reported to be okay.

How do we know this? A Disney Wonder guest twittered the whole thing. I’ve included a jpg of the tweets below from user BigHeadDennis. http://www.twitter.com/BigHeadDennis

I wonder if this is the first time a rescue like this has been twittered.

Transcript is below the jump:

Posted: 7:04 am EDT September 3, 2009Updated: 9:42 am EDT September 3, 2009

PORT CANAVERAL, Fla. -- A Disney Cruise ship pulled into Port Canaveral early Thursday morning after miraculously rescuing a man at sea. The 34-year-old man fell overboard at approximately 11:15pm Wednesday night from a Carnival Cruise Lines ship that was headed to the Bahamas.

<snip>

The U.S. Coast Guard says the man fell overboard approximately 28 nautical miles east-northeast of Port St. Lucie.

<snip>

The Coast Guard says it was prepared to fly to man to a hospital, but he did not require medical attention.

At this point, there is no word how the man fell overboard or an update on his condition.

6. Some douchebag luddites immediately respond negatively to anything with the word "Twitter" in it.
They also want those damn kids to get off their lawn.
