Sarah Palin 'can't even shoot a gun'

Sarah Palin, the former governor of Alaska who built her reputation on her rugged application of motherhood, does not actually fish and has no idea how to use her own gun, according to her daughter's former boyfriend.

Levi Johnston, the teenager who Mrs Palin embraced as part of her family last year when it emerged during the presidential campaign that he had impregnated her 17-year-old daughter, turned against the family in an interview with Vanity Fair, painting the former governor as a selfish woman who took little interest in her children.

He claimed that Mrs Palin, whose fans boasted she could "field dress a moose", was incapable of handling a gun kept in the family home in Wasilla.

"She says she goes hunting and lives off animal meat - I've never seen it," said Mr Johnston, 19. "I've never seen her touch a fishing pole. "She had a gun in her bedroom and one day she asked me to show her how to shoot it. I asked her what kind of gun it was, and she said she didn't know, because it was in a box under her bed."

Bush didn't know squat about operating a ranch. When he decided he would run for president, they purchased the ranch and had him posing in front of cameras regularly to "clear brush." As soon as his presidency ended, he ditched the ranch.

I am not saying that Palin is not a charlatan, but I do not trust anything that people say when they are being paid to say it.

If you're going to toss around allegations like that you should have at least a shred of proof.

Of course, in this instance you've got nothing, as a magazine like Vanity Fair wouldn't pay for an interview.

like you lock the liquor up when you have kids. Also, we always bought ammo before we went shooting and used it up. There never was any ammo in our house or unlocked guns and we didn't even have children. Do a google some times and you will find that the majority of tragic gun accidents in the home involving children were because parents kept guns in a box under the bed or in a closet that the children were able to get access to. Yes and quite honestly if I had children I wouldn't leave sharp pointed instruments on a counter or any place else they could hurt themselves with.

I'm not surprised to find out she can't fire a gun. I am a bit shocked to hear she had one in her home she didn't know anything about. If a person is to be around a firearm, the least they can do is be intelligent enough to know how to handle it safely.
