Ambinder: White House willing to let progressive caucus in house have their "jollies"
...but betting they won't oppose an option-less bill that makes it out of committee:

"...Obama hasn't ever threatened to veto a bill without a public option and won't. For a while now, Obama's aides have believed that the 50-odd progressives in the House who are demanding a public option will get their jollies if they can pass a bill out of the House, and that they will be too afraid to oppose a bill that makes it out of a subsequent conference committee -- a bill that President Obama would specifically endorse. For now, the administration will proceed as if both the House and Senate would pass health care legislation via the normal process. The threat of passing a bill through reconciliation is "real," but it still isn't the "go" option because it is, as of yet, politically unsalable, at least in the opinion of White House aides. The politics of health care have been distorted, they believe, to the point where Obama needs to make the case that the regular (even a-historical) congressional procedure is being used by obstructionists to prevent the passage of the bill. This may be self-evident to some Democrats, but the American people aren't there yet, and until they're there, the White House will do whatever it can to build its 60 vote supermajority."

3. BS
With a 3/4 majority of the people being in favor of a public option how the F can anyone spout this gibberish....and how the hell could there not be enough to pass it? a pure clusterf***k our governmental process has become the laughing stock of the world, first we vote in * and company twice allow him to start a war of aggression keep him in office , don't prosecute admitted war criminals, we have one of the worst least efficient health care systems in the world, what was once the leading nation in the industrialized world has become a virtual hasbeen third world country that cannot even live up to the rule of law nor look after the health of its citizens.... I am at the point of actually realizing that it makes no difference whatsoever who we vote in,the strongest party wins out in the end and that obviously is not the democrat party, in order to be considered strong you need to be capable of an upright position and that is impossible without a spine.

11. What's not adding up?
This piece claims there are "50 odd" progressives demanding a public option.

There are 83 congress critters registered with the Progressive Caucus.

Are there REALLY 30 odd members of the progressive caucus that DON'T back a public option?
