Poll question: What Will Happen to Obama's Poll Numbers If He Demands the PO?
Edited on Thu Sep-03-09 01:59 PM by stopbush
What do you think will happen to Obama's poll numbers if he says that he will not sign any bill that does not contain a very strong public option?

Vote below.

7. Real numbers haven't shifted significantly since he was elected.
Slight majority of the people support him. Rest are crazy fucktards.

People either support him or they don't.

2. That's one of the things we elected him to do...
So, I would expect that many will come back to the fold once they feel Obama is doing what they elected him to do. I think the drop in approval is due to his trying to "play fair" with the Pubbies... it's not working so well... time he got back to the business of doing what's right for the people, not the Pubbies, who obviously are not people... people tend to have a little more empathy.

3. The haters will hate him more
the rest of us will respect him for standing up for what is right. In other words, he'll get a bump because most people aren't against him, just a very vocal minority.

10. One thing that damaged the Health Care Reform movement was the
August vacation by congress. The break allowed the health care industry to promote so many lies is disgusting. Those lies swayed the dumb and the sheeples. Obama's speech and a renewed push will help make the PO more popular among the easily swayed. Dems voted for Obama, still support him and the PO. Let's do it!

13. So much for the meme that "you don't roll out a new product in August."
The insurance industry did a huge roll out on the "health reform is evil" product in August, and it did quite well. Of course, there was lots of bought-and-paid-for media coverage that said it was a success...

12. I believe the recent tank in the polls (past 1-2 wks) is due to pissing off the base
If he comes out forcefully for the public option he will return to high numbers

14. I don't know and I don't care
He should do it because it's the right thing to do. He said he'd be okay being a one-termer - time to back up those words.

15. We'll See An Astronomical Rise In His Numbers.........
The groundswell of support for him will be like Grant Park in November and D.C. on Inauguration Day.

The President was able to get a whole lot of people into caring again. They believed in his word of hope and change and gave him and the Dems - the White House, the House and the Senate.

The American people wanted and want change.

It would really take the wind out of peoples sails - if we get something short of a 'strong public option' and real health reform. I'm afraid it could put a lot of his supporters to get him were he is - back into a position that they can't trust anyone and they pull away from getting involved.

If that happens - the Repugs and the RW crazies will have their way with this country - and we'll never be able to recover.

Really - a lot is riding on the President to live up to his pre-presidency promises. He painted a vision for us - and if he caves on health care reform and a 'strong public option' - he will set back the Dems beyond words.

I just couldn't stand to hear the MSM and the Repugs and the RW crazies gloat that they beat him.

He will never get anything else in his presidency accomplished as they will have gotten an upper hand on him at the same time he would have let down his base of support.

Don't let this happen - call the White House Comment Line today - 1-202-456-1111 and express your support for President Obama and health reform with a 'strong public option'.
