Thom Hartmann was brilliant today. Obama's model shouldn't be Lincoln - but FDR
Although he did say that Lincoln was willing to go to war with Americans to drive the right thing to do. He played snippets of FDRs speech from 1936 - after 3 disastrous Republican administrations, Roosevelt essentially took on the right as if it was a war in itself - he took the power he had and dragged the country back up, out of the hands of the big business cabals. He was PLEADING for Obama to cut the bipartisan crap and actually have the courage and use the power.
Very compelling radio. Great to hear how FDR took on the right in his speech.
2. Heard the first 30 minutes...he not only made the case for why Obama should
be tougher with a progressive agenda but he made clear who was responsible for the mess we're in now. The parallels between the late 20s and early 30s and now are astonishing. And FDRs speech is even more applicable today. That speech should be a full page ad in newspapers across the US.
