1. It's better to take the time to do it right.
Let's see where the facts lead.

We don't want to pull a Nifong on this one.

2. I'm frustrated with the pace as well.
But, I keep telling myself, they've only been in power for a couple of months. It does take time to get the ball rolling.

I'm hopeful that there's more to it than we know. Much more. And I also hold out hope that once things start moving, they will progress rapidly.

We must keep the pressure on them, though. Impeachment must be something they hear from constituents regularly, and constantly. They must be reminded constantly what the people expect from them.

3. Welcome, once again, to...
...Short Attention Span Theater. There's no development so good that it can't be spoiled by whiny impatience and bitching.

4. Mahatma
you read my mind. I wish the Dems would stop worrying about those daft red staters who still think there is a link between Saddam and al Queda, as well as the incredibly useless mainstream media and start slamming their fists down on the nearest fucking table, while the veins in their foreheads are visibly throbbing as mine are right now, and get down to fucking business! We are talking about our country for Pete's sake!! Their political futures should NOT be in the equation! Or do they want their base to stay home in 2008?!

5. Call Senator Leahy...
Like I did...thank him for what he is doing...but tell him it is time to drop the hammer. We Americans are sick and tired of the corruption. Investigate, subpoena, indict and arrest...... 202 224-4242.

DROP THE HAMMER.....maybe that could be our rallying cry.

7. I was going to call him today.
Keep the pressure on these Senators, and to also show them we are listening to what is happening.

9. I wish we would grow some balls and go visit our Reps constituent offices
and ask them to Impeach and ask them to quit funding the illegal occupation of Iraq.

can you imagine the psychological effects of having a hundred people showing up everyday at your offices in your home state asking that the House Rep or the US Senator Impeach?

It's fine to criticize our elected officials for what they aren't doing, but other than Code Pink in a few cities, I don't see we the people actually getting involved in a personal way to push impeachment and to end the war.

If we can get 3 to 4 hundred thousand people to go to DC to march, I'd hope we could get triple that amount to go down to their local Reps constituent office for 10 minutes and ask them for what we want, one on one, polite yet firm.

Could you even imagine?

When was the last time you were in your congress criters home state constituent office?

It's been about 10 years for me. I'm going today. I can spare 10 minutes.

10. I wish you wouldn't start with a backhanded (and sexist) insult...

...because the rest of your post makes an excellent point.

11. I was replying in the language of the OP, who was using that sexist
terminology in reference to our elected officials.

I specifically choose that phrase to make a point.

Sorry if it offended you, that wasn't my intent. My intent was to illustrate that we are the change we seek, that we have a responsibility to show some courage if we want change.

Sorry for calling you out. Often I see posts that start out by insulting the very people we hope to persuade, and that's counterproductive. I thought yours was one of those. My bad.

14. Probably the reason for the 'prayer breakfast'; they need a prayer........
to save their damn asses this time. I always remember the 'prayer breakfast' scene from the movie 'Head Office' when I think of these hypocritical 'executive idiots'.
