My advice to President Barack Obama, for what it's worth....

Go for the fences. Get done everything you can possibly get done in your first term because there may not be a second. In fact, you should try to get done what you want done as soon as possible because these folks in opposition will do everything in their power to prevent you from getting a second term. And they can be malicious and effective because they have the media in their pockets. Don't nibble at the edges of health care reform. Go for single payer or a Medicare public option. Do not be afraid of making these folks angry. They are insane already. They are not going to change. Whatever progressive change you are able to bring about, do it. Don't wait on history or the Republican Party.

Look what they did to Clinton for over 8 years. Where do the repubs get the guts to just plain lie and cheat. Worse yet, where do these people come from that "believe" and follow obediently? They are truly believers in "the end justifies the means".
