( eight years after terrorists struck the U.S. on 9/11, we take stock of where we now stand in the resulting war against terrorism in Afghanistan. Are we any safer? Is the U.S. on the right course? And should we prosecute CIA detainee abusers? We're joined for analysis by our political roundtable: the mayor of New York City on 9/11, RUDY GIULIANI (R); Fmr. Rep. HAROLD FORD JR. (D-TN); NBC's TOM BROKAW; and The New York Times columnist TOM FRIEDMAN.)

CNN's "State of the Union" — Dr. Thomas Frieden, director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention; Gov. Tim Pawlenty, R-Minn.; Sens. Amy Klobuchar, D-Minn., and Ben Nelson, D-Neb about the health care debate, national security, and more. A leader in the fight for a public health care option, Rep. Keith Ellison, D-Minnesota, gets the Last Word.

"Fox News Sunday" _ Howard Dean, former national Democratic Party chairman;, Sen. Lamar Alexander, R-Tenn.; John Podesta, head of the Center for American Progress; former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, R-Ga.

Fareed Zakaria, GPS :Some of our greatest hits: First, Secretary of Defense Robert Gates on the limits of American power. Then former New York State governor Elliot Spitzer's unique perspective on the financial crisis and the Dalai Lama's perspective on the world. Plus, some of this summer's best movies you may have missed.

1. Rudy Guiliani...again? He must be easy to find on the roller decks.
He has got a lot of mileage out of very few votes and no interests from Republicans, so why is he the go to guy for Republican thought?

3. How come Giuliani keeps showing up on TV?
He is a private citizen. I am a private citizen. So why aren't I ever invited to any of these news shows? The hell with Giuliani.
