More Twitter fun
I have my Twitter account set to private so I know who is following me. There is a loony teabagger here (well actually not here anymore; I just learned she moved to St Louis) and she wanted to follow me but I blocked her. So she set up a different Twitter account using another name and asked to follow me again. I declined. But I have been checking her Tweets out ever since. Most are "REVOLUTION!" themes sent out to incite teabaggers.

Then tonight I discovered she had RT one of my Tweets (copied it and sent it to to her followers). My Tweet was:

Kids who watch Obama Tues will be inspired, go on to achieve great things - kids of Obama haters can work for them.

(Stole that from here on DU. Thanks to whoever posted it. I loved it!:))

She added "WOW" to the beginning of my Tweet. So I guess that means she was shocked by it. Gee, paranoid much?

So then tonight I RT this: RTjeffersondewittText of Obama speech to schoolkids leaked: "Rise up, my tiny assassins, & stab your Rep. parents in the heart! Kill! Kill!"

And not 10 minutes later, she sent out this Tweet:

I am sorry, but the aggressive, violent and threatening language coming from the communist left is DANGEROUS to our republic.

So that's it, folks. We are aggressive, violent, dangerous, and we use threatening language!

1. I find it difficult to take ANYONE with a Twitter account seriously.

3. I got hooked during the Iran elections
There was better and more up to date info being posted on Twitter than anywhere else on the net. It's really great for breaking news.

Then I started following the teabaggers and other wingnuts. It's less to wade through than FR.

4. Is there any evidence that Twitter updates...
were (or are), any more or less reliable than the MSM?

The Iranian thing had it's 15 minutes of fame (shame on the MSM for relying on it), but I just see "Tweeting" as a passing pre-teen fad
that's more entertaining than informative.

Maybe I'm being to harsh or critical, but this is how I see Twitter as a reputable source of enlightenment and information...

5. There are links in Tweets to MSM stories
It's a quick and easy place to go to find news.

You also learn which reporters to follow for new tips that have no links yet. There was a tornado about 20 miles from me one night and one of the local reporters on the scene was sending out Tweets and they were better info than the TV weather folks were giving out.

I don't do social stuff on Twitter. That I don't get at all. :)
