Boy found hidden in 5x12 4ft-high room in wall
FRANKLIN COUNTY-- Police find a Royalton child two years after authorities say he was abducted by his mother.

Police say the boy’s mom and grandma were hiding him in pitiful conditions.
...

For nearly two years police say Ricky Chekevdia was held captive inside a Franklin County home he never left, not even to play outside.

"We let him out of the car and he ran around like he'd never seen the outdoors; it was actually very sad" says Stan Diggs with the Illinois State Police.
...

Homemade signs cover the yard of the house in rural Royalton; seeming to taunt police that the boy was there, but searches never located the secret room until now.

1. Why would there be homemade signs in the yard? Poorly written--can't figure that out.

3. Ugly custody battle
On the lawn in front of Dobbs’ house, which she shares with her boyfriend, Robert Sanderfur, she had placed hand-written signs calling Chekevdia a child molester. As recently as last week, fliers appeared around town, including at Chekevdia’s church, he said, accusing him of abuse.

6. Yup
It doesn't sound like you can't trust anybody in this story. I hope someone's going to keep long term track of the boy.

8. Sounds to me like the father is to be trusted...
Wouldn't you agree or do you have first hand knowledge of something that Children's Services does not?

5. Bad Ronald?
Anyone remember the TV movie in which a teen was hidden in a wall by his mother?

7. I remember that movie.
That was a creepy movie.

The kid liked to paint or something.
