Edited on Sun Sep-06-09 12:17 AM by KelleyKramer
They are about to set the MAN on Fire!

Live stream here-

http://www.ustream.tv/channel/burningman-live

This is from the week long Burning Man festival in the Nevada desert, a week long event of total insanity.

on edit--

This is from last year (i think), that thing is about 5 stories tall...

2nd edit:

If you dont know what this is, google 'burning man' and click on 'images' in far top left...

then it'll take about three seconds to get it.

1. Delayed shortly..

There were high winds earlier, I think they are checking for safety.

Should be coming up soon, it looks clear now.

8. Try updating your flashplayer

If you are using a browser thats a likely cause.

They are small updates, take a minute or less to download and you dont have to re-boot to install.

10. Thanks... I'm running the latest stuff...
The issue must be with my ISP or my wireless router... because both my Mac and iPhone are not getting USTREAM video.

Thanks for your help, anyways... Enjoy the show and I'll close my eyes and feel the good vibes... ;-)

18. My son is there having a great time ....I'm sure.
gulp!.....And he's missing his first week of his last semester of school. Bless his heart. My daughter wants to go next year. Interesting for someone who is a bit like Reece Witherspoon. But like Reece, she'll be fine.

Where is my arms crossed, toe tapping smiley when I need it? :)

Hey Zomby, it's too late for coffee...got milk?

22. Thank you so much for posting that!
Having only been as far west as CO, I've only heard stories of the Burning Man. Glad to get to see it live.

It took forever, but it sure was cathartic to watch.

25. This weekend, they will burn Zozobra in Santa Fe...
About 60-70,000 people will march from downtown to the little park north of town. They will set off the fireworks once it gets dusky dark. Zozobra, who is several stories high, will start moving his arms and moaning as the flame rip up his wooden body. His eyes glow in the dark as his moans become louder and louder. Finally, the crowd cheers.

Everyone then marches back down to the square in Santa Fe and the smell of Mexican food surrounds the entire plaza as locals set up their special food stands. The mariachi bands play at the north end of the plaza and the people dance in the streets to the festivities. It used to be on Labor Day but they changed it because on one certain Labor Day, with the tequila flowing freeing, it got a little bit out of hand. :-)
