The speech to students will be everything we expect to be it to be.

Non-partisan and harmless.

2. It doesn't matter -
of course the speech is non-partisan and harmless.

The content of the speech, in spite of what these goofballs are saying, is not the problem.

There's a black man in the Oval Office. THAT is the problem, and no matter how innocuous the speech is, it will be spun so silly, it just might end up looking like a call to all the black brothers and sisters to rise up and Kill Whitey.

You're thinking that the people behind this nonsense are capable of shame. And, really, by now you should know better. They are not. Shame is reserved for Democrats, I guess, since we still have hearts and souls and consciences. Not so the opposition.

Ultimately, you will hear from "concerned parents" that they're SO relieved that their children weren't exposed to that kind of propaganda.

That's my guess, anyway.....................

11. THEY can't go too far. They can carry guns to rallies, shout down the disabled, call the President
Hitler. That's okay.

And they have tasted blood now.

12. And the media validates their behavior by giving them a microphone
& hours & hours of attention on their 'news' shows. The media is responsible for this group appearing bigger & louder than they actually are.

7. My question tho, is why Democrats just sit back like we're mute every time our president
is publicly humiliated. Maybe because he does it too? He just says nothing.

You can't just let all this crap hang out there - you have to respond and counter it. It's just unbelievable that there is such silence in the face of the insanity.

19. I agree. I don't want another Kerry situation in which our candidate or politician becomes a zombie
And doesn't do anything.

14. It's time he tries a different approach, then.
Clearly, what he's doing isn't working. His message has been completely drowned out by the wingers.

20. Nope, they "win" either way.
Edited on Sun Sep-06-09 03:27 PM by SoCalDem
By being aggressively PRO-ACTIVE and on OFFENSE, they "brought the matter to the attention of the media", who happily flogged the thing hourly, on tv, on the radio & in print...for all to see...for DAYS & DAYS.....win #1

They "got" the WH to "change" something about it on the official website....win #2

They got boards of education, all over the place to question the "validity/controversial nature"of the speech"...win # 3

When the speech is delivered, they win either way too..

The speech is all rah-rah go schoolkids & not controversial at all?..win # 4
because the media will say the right wing made the president take out stuff he had planned to have in there

The speech falls short of what the right wingers thought he should say?..win #4
because they will say he failed to deliver, and to inspire kids..just wasted their time

When you are on OFFENSE and are calling the shots for the media manipulation of a topic, you can always craft a win..
