What about the many Republicans -- including congressmen John Campbell and Bill Posey -- who promoted that "birther" nonsense? What about the un-chamingly zany Michelle Bachmann, who recently intimated that swine flu was a Democratic conspiracy, who says that no amount of carbon dioxide can do harm to the atmosphere, who insists that evolution has never been proven, who thinks that Obama is setting up "re-education camps," and who wants to hold a McCarthy-like investigation into fellow congress members to determine whether or not they are "pro-America"? What about Congressman Paul Broun of Georgia, who -- after bidding farewell to observable reality -- told a crowd that Obama had established a private army, along with complete press control and a total gun ban, all with the intent of establishing a Marxist one-party state?

And what about Senator Christopher "Kit" Bond, the guy who called Jones "radical and repugnant"? Bond is the fellow who, when asked whether waterboarding constituted torture, replied: "It's like swimming, freestyle,

And Beck:
Beck's website (subscription required) also includes the following "comedy" segments, apparently broadcast on Beck's nationally syndicated radio program:

A mock radio jingle for the species of grouper formerly known as the "jewfish," containing the line: "Close your eyes and try to picture a great big friendly jewfish -- that is unless you're Jewish. Oh yeah, and that reminds us: Jewfish get real stinky if you leave them in the car."

Several short segments listing "rejected NCAA team names," including: "the Los Angeles Limp-Wrists," "the New Jersey Jumpin' Jews," and "the Atlanta Murdering Rampage of Savage Rapin' Injuns."

A satirical song about the reformed "New KKK": The song details the fictitious organization's practice of "close-to-painful murdering of the dark people."

A musical mock-tribute to illegal border crossers: The singer refers to Sen. Edward M. Kennedy (D-MA) as a "wasted" "leprechaun." An announcer says Mexico's "main contribution to American society is the deflowering of our teenage daughters on spring break."

1. It doesn't take much to give cred to the whack.
For example, we can mock the whacks for their claim that "Obama" will take away Second Amendment rights, but then we have a small army of folks here on DU who would like to do precisely that and aren't bashful about saying so.

2. Just curious: Why does one believe in total what someone posting under a false name says on the inte
rnet?

Things are said for a purpose and there are many, many, many purposes. In anonymous situations it is VERY possible, and even easy in fact, to get the opposite effect from a certain types of statements.

I'm just curious, really, can you tell me what you found so credible in those to whom you refer?

3. "we have a small army of folks here on DU who would like to...
take away Second Amendment rights." That is so outrageous it is almost comical. A small army? How many in this small army? 10 or 100? How many? And to what degree do they want to "take away"? All guns? Anti-tank weapons? Rocket launchers?

George W. Bush took away most Constitutional rights, but left the Second Amendment alone. The NRA supported George W. Bush. In fact the NRA sponsored a "documentary" attacking Sen Clinton that will come before the SCOTUS in a week or two which IMO the SCOTUS will stand behind the NRA and tell us that there will not be any restrictions on corporations related to campaigns. Seems to me that those who are so paranoid about their Second Amendment rights are willing to give up the rest of the Constitution to do it. They are not even smart enough to distrust a government that would do that, thinking they would never take away your guns.

4. From now on , I am not going to respond to post featuring the word "bush"
... unless they are about Australia. I simply tired of everything a person says or does being viewed through the prism of George W Bush. I don't give a rat's ass about George W Bush at this point, because it simply DOES NOT MATTER. He's gone, thank God, move on.

5. Gun-nut-cakes are willing to give up all Constitutional rights as long as they keep their guns.
There, I said it with out giving you the excuse not to respond. The NRA supports individuals that want to take away all our rights except (at least it's what they tell you) your "gun" rights.

You say that an army here wants to take away Second Amendment rights but you offer no proof. I say you are full of bush-shit. Ooops, I said the magic word. The NRA supports republican tyrants.

6. Yes, because anonymous posters on a message board
are EXACTLY the same thing as the president of the United States. :eyes:
