This doesn't denigrate the work of the Marines pictured in anyway, but it does make you wonder why we are putting them in that situation.

The Taliban is only a threat to people who go to Afghanistan looking for them. If we were just after al Qaeda, we could have finished them off at Tora Bora, but the Bush administration made a conscious decision not too, because you can't use a dead boogey man as an excuse for continuing a war or starting another one.

1. I agree that Bush & Co. let Osama bin Laden go...
...partly because the families have very long and profitable ties.

Can't look at the pictures, but I don't know how either administration can sleep at night knowing they are putting people in this situation unnecessarily.

6. the one gruesome photo is not so much shocking as sad in context...
the look on the marines face, dazed and empty, had more of an impact on me than the injury, which was just a red blur anyway.

if it doesn't come they need to figure out why and do something about themselves.. Islam is the problem. it is their burden, interfering will only turn all muslims against us..

we do not need to make those soldiers die for failed POLITICS. they said it best in Viet Nam...."WASTED"

ANOTHER NEEDLESS TRAGEDY.. on a political convayer belt
