1. Axelrod already spanked the Mediawhores for twisting his words. Why are YOU buying their garbage?

3. I saw that interview this morning, and in the OP's defense.........
I was SHOCKED by how wishy-washy Axelrod sounded. He failed to to come out and say that the President was in favor of a "Public Option" and he left lots of wiggle room for President Obama.

Axelrod sounded positively SPINELESS.................and I wondered where all the spirited, outspoken surrogates for Obama had gone!

5. I just watched it.
Reminds me of Charles Durning in Best Little Whorehouse in Texas.

Enjoy!

4. I listened to MTP for myself. Here's part of what was said
Gregory: He said it MUST be included, David. It must be included.
Alexrod: He said there must be an exchange where people can get insurance at a competitive price.

I don't know about the media whores who got spanked, all I know is that Mr. Axelrod did not take any kind of solid stand in support of the Public Option on MTP today.

As for stirring shit up, absolutely -- just like Paul fuckin' Revere.

2. My biggest fear is...
...that this ambivalence and lack of a concise endorsement of a public option will
cause everyone to freak out with blind excitement when Obama endorses a public option
during his speech.

This public option will be gutted and won't be real reform.

However, the media will run with it, "Obama goes for public option!" and the fact that
this is a watered-down public option--will be lost in the hoopla.

Please remember---single payer was never on the table, because that's what the insurance
companies demanded. Does anyone really think that the insurance companies will lose much
under the public option?

7. I heard Daschle on Snuffy's show say..."he (Daschle) prefers Exchanges"
Since Daschle was Obama's first pick...it would seem that "Health Care Exchanges" is the preferred option and they will push that with "public option" (of some kind) as one of the options in the "Exchange." I don't have high hopes for any plan Tom Daschle is pushing that has the blessing of Obama. We who have had long experience dealing with Daschle's history of weakened watered down compromise legislation would know that it isn't going to be a "public option" anything close to getting full Medicare type coverage for all. It will be something that can be tossed as unworkable down the road.

8. and Robert Gibbs said on ABC with Snuffy that Obama would not veto a bill that didn't have
Public Option. So...I think it's dead unless it's worked into a "Health Care Exchange" as an option. If it is an "option" in an "Exchange"....who knows what that will be. But, not something comprehensive that would do much for a large amount of people. And who would run this exchange? Another Board made up of the same folks involved in the health care industry that Obama made his deal with?
