I just came across this image... and thought it might be somehow relevant...
It's or Norman Rockwell's very first magazine cover... From Boys' Life circa 1913.

At the very top of the page a teaser above the title reads:

"President Wilson's Message to 9,000,000 School Boys."

Apparently Presidents have been addressing school children for a looong time. Just thought I'd throw that out there.

1. Yeah, but Wilson was white.
Seriously, we know what all this indignation is really about.

2. True, but if you kick any other legs they're standing on our from under them
They'll be forced to admit that they've got absolutely no reasonable grounds whatsoever to object. The arguments aren't really for the diehards... it's for the people watching from the sidelines who don't realize what the real motivations are. Once they see these red faced steaming psychotics standing on their ridiculously racist leg, they say "Oh wow, and to think I was taking them seriously... *sigh*"

3. If the chimp had done the exact same thing last year at
this time, no one would have even commented on it. It would have been a non-issue. No matter what Obama does, however, the rw will respond viciously and loudly. As long as the corporate media gives them a platform, they will be out there - red-faced and braying with fake indignation.

7. I thought of that recently, too.

It's a terribly sad contrast, eh?

6. Yeah, but that was different...
None of the others were black!

That is what it really comes down to. That and polarized politics. The right wing and their media propaganda machine have polarized politics beyond simple partisanship
