Howard Dean: "...if you don't use your majorities, you lose your majorities."
Howard Dean was a very effective spokesman on FOX News this morning. It's too bad he is not in this Administration.
=====================
"The president is the president. He was elected by a very big majority," said Dean. "We have very big majorities in the House and the Senate. My experience in politics is if you don't use your majorities, you lose your majorities."

3. god, that's sad. It's what happens when Mr. Smith goes to Washington.
Someone says something and then others follow it and then it becomes conventional wisdom and we're back to where we were before.

Why is it we always hear about the change in Washington but see it so hard to achieve, if it is achieved?

I've talked to him on two occasions. I totally kissed him on the cheek. I couldn't help myself, he is my hero.

5. wisely... use the majority wisely... the GOP held a majority, and they used it
unwisely. The dems have a majority now, and they are also using it unwisely, IMO.

We do have the majority. He needs to twist Baucus's arm behing his back and tell him how it's going to happen. If Obama fails here it will hurt him and our party for years to come - heaven forbid.

Course Baucus could save his seat??!! ugh

9. I have a bad feeling
he is going to be correct.

The Democrats are simply weak, indecisive, disorganized, and just pathetic. I have a bad feeling our huge gains will be drastically reduced in the House, leaving us with a thin majority...and the senate may not move a whole lot, but regardless - 60 or 51, Democrats in the Senate seem unable to accomplish anything so it won't even matter. They sure didn't do a damn thing the four years of Bush's presidency they were in the majority.

16. It IS sad. The very reason we NEED him (single payer) is the exact reason he isn't in it.
That's not a good sign.

The r's crammed shitty legislation down out throats endlessly with a much smaller majority, yet we can't do something GOOD with a wide margin. It is nothing more than a lack of will. The Administration is playing their cards close to their chest, so I will reserve final judgment until they are all on the table. But it isn't looking good.

After Bush/Cheney, even with an astounding degree of establishment aid to enable and help cover for them, the RW definitely needed a helping hand re their PR and damage control to maintain the two party ruse.

23. Kicking Dean out of the DNC Killed the Democratic Party, Again
If you notice,as soon as the Obama-Clinton-Emanuel-"D"LC took over, left Howard Dean hanging and then kicked Dean out, things have basically gone downhill. The "accomplishments" have all been corporate--Wall St. criminal speculator bailouts and expenses-paid, further deregulated trade deals, etc.--and nothing affecting the people has happened at all, notably the completely bizarre treatment of health care as an issue, turning it all over to insurance and pharmaceuticals, by way of lobbyist Tom Daschle operating the bill. All the rebuilding of the Party, supporting the campaigns of populists, and winning, and addressing the issues people care about, are now gone, and instead it has reverted to the same brain-dead, corporate-interest "D"LC "leadership" that inspires no one in the real country.

It started when Obama started getting credit for tha things that had actually been done by Howard Dean: getting the grass roots people back into Party activites, using the internet for fund-raising and getting out information, rebuilding the structure and offices/staff of the National Party, etc. Now that Dean has been stabbed in the back and the "Obama team" is here, it is just like the corporate "no real membership" "D"LC of the 1990s--and the same disaster will happen again, because there is no skill, no concern about the non-rich, all corporate deal-making, just like Clinton. The "Democrats" are now proving that concern about the people's econimic issues are only slogans to trick a vote out of you, but that no one will have access but their rich corporate friends. They don't even seem to have a clue about a sense of direction, or how real processes run, and don't run. Reports about "the Obama team" "targeting progressive House Democrats" (CNN, a little while ago, with very little explanation) are disgusting and threatening, and nothing is being corrected, because they don't intend to. After all the fake credit Obama got from the corporate media on a "brilliantly-run" campaign, they are all going down in a flaming mess of bizarre, incoherent, corporate-corrupt stupidity, and they did it to themselves--and to Howard Dean, and to us.

31. How I Agree With You!!!! Dr. Howard Dean Has Done SOOOOOOO Much
for the DNC and for the Democratic Party! As time goes by and what I'm seeing more and more of, I fear that Dean is VERY spot on!

I've always known that the D.C. elites didn't favor him, but he's been one person who has STOOD UP for THE PEOPLE, and NOT caving into the pits of corporatism!

I have just about made up my mind that I will soon be changing to NPA because of THIS Administration and ALL it's ties to those such as Goldman Sachs! If the Repukes are in disarray, the Democrats of today are wimps and I'm SICK OF IT!!

We gave them EVERYTHING and now it seems they have forgotten us! Money talks and talks and talks... but they will get no more from me! They've called for donations quite a few times, and have emailed me, but I've told them how I feel!

I've been a Democrat since I was 11 years old, and I feel they have played a bad hand for too many years now! And I'm really sick of people like Rahm Emanuel and thought from the get-go that his pick didn't bode well for Democrats!

35. Howard Dean speaks the truth
He has been treated horribly by the Democratic leadership. I'm almost surprised he still supports the party considering all the crap he's taken. The fact that he does gives me hope. I hope he runs for president in the future. And if things don't improve, I hope he runs in the near future.

Howard Dean stands his ground, is tough and in the face of republicans...they despise him.. Dean does give a shit and truly cares for the American people....

Dean also let's everyone know the republicans are such full of shit liars, hateful & greedy...Dean has compassion & scruples!!
