That is the reason cited by one Maryland county school board for what is, in actuality, CAVING IN TO WHINY RIGHT WING ASSHOLE MOTHERFUCKERS.

Congratulations Harford County School Board for winning the COWARDLY ELECTED OFFICIALS OF THE MONTH award. We hope you wear it in a way that makes you look as stupid as you truly are.

5. i had a relative post a link to the speech on facebook and said it was a good speech.
i agreed and someone else bitched about it to which my relative had a great point....

here's the remark of the one person:
The government requires schools to pass tests in order to continue to educate, and then requires schools to take time away from instruction to hear a speech that really won't make much of a difference in the children's performance. This is the parents' responsibility, and if the children are not listening to the parents who are there with them, ... Read Morethey will not pay attention to someone in a city far away. There has not been a difference in my students' attitudes to instruction since he was elected, and I don't think one speech is going to change that.


my relative's response:
The president is not just "Someone in a city far away". He's the president. And if kids can be made to sit in an assembly about how to sell candy bars...they can damn well listen to the president of the United states for 2 minutes

I suspect this man's parents were relatives as close together as were this man's eyes.

11. I read it and liked it.
If a school board is saying this, it's because they haven't "seen" it, to guarantee that it matches the script. They are covering their asses. Not the best way to handle things, but perhaps they get more lawsuits than some, and don't want their liability insurance to go up. :shrug:

The school board, and the superintendent, are there to minimize political and legal damage in these kinds of scenarios. School boards are elected by the communities they serve.

Will they allow the speech to be shown after they've screened it?

My daughter's school will not see it (Middle School), yet the elementary school she went to will get to see it. I sent emails to both.

Apart from Columbia, there are lots of dumbfucks who live here. We had a billboard size PALINmccain sign across the street all election season.
