DH and I saw Jackson Browne open for Tom Petty a year or two ago. He still puts on a great show.

Those were two massive rallies.

Guess it's still on the table for a lot of us...

when Mayor Daly had his goons beating the crap out of protesters at the Democratic convention the crowd started chanting "The whole world is watching."
The message to our elected officials is the whole country is watching and we will vote them out of office if they don't represent our wishes.
The upside of all of this is the Bush crime family will be off the political landscape for the foreseeable future. It will take decades to recover from their damage to the world, but W has effectively neutered them.

I'm crying a mixture of tears. Tears of both profound sadness for the death and destruction and profound hope for our future.

In my opinion, there were MORE people at this rally than at the one in September. Don't believe the media lies about the crowd turnout---there were easily at least 500K, if not more. There had to be, because the marchers who started off first finished the route before others had begun to move off of the Mall.

told me today that she sat for an hour and watched people 35-40 abreast walk by her for over an hour. And that was a good hour after the march started, plus they were still coming with no end in sight when she left. Do the math.

Yes it was awesome. And remember David and the bush effigy? He was interviewed by the NY Times and he is quoted in today's article - on page 20, BTW. Go David!!

Seeing those good souls on the march heartens me, and brings to mind words from the late Edward Said:

"If only more Americans and others can grasp that the main long-range hope for the world is this community of conscience and understanding, that whether in the protection of constitutional rights, or in reaching out to the innocent victims of American power (as in Iraq), or in relying on understanding and rational analysis 'we' can do a great deal better than we have so far done."

"Thousands of protesters" I think we need to start protesting the media too, what lame headlines. They are as much to blame for this mess.

I was there, and it was so large that I missed seeing a lot of what was shown in those pictures, and I was walking around for 2 hours before the march even started.

Everyone has the right to a voice but it is amazing how the majority of the voices speaking right now are from our camp.

Wake Up Senators because the rest of our Govt certainly is still asleep at the wheel.
