Former Bushie Mark McKinnon sends $1000 to Rob Miller, volunteers to start "Republicans for Miller"
McKinnon's Op-Ed at Dailybeast:

Make Joe Wilson pay.

And by pay, I mean beat his sorry ass at the polls and send him to the private sector. That is the only way to change the political discourse in America today. Because as long as louts like Joe Wilson can spout off and call the president a liar and get rewarded with re-election, then louts will continue to spout off. And we will continue to claw our way to the very bottom of the political swamp.

.
.
.
I’m a Republican, but I’d rather have a Democrat in Congress who I may disagree with but who has some fundamental character and decency that Wilson clearly lacks. So, today I’m volunteering for Republicans for Rob Miller, Wilson’s opponent, a former Marine and Iraq veteran, and am sending him a $1,000 check. And you can do the same by going here.

There’s only one way to we’re going to change our political climate and ensure we establish some respect in our discourse. And that is to show there is a real price to pay for being a disrespectful partisan idiot.

Send Joe Wilson home.

Plenty of good stuff in the full rant:

3. I'm not that old, but I can still remember when the opposition was reasoned,
thoughtful, and sane. They had rational political viewpoints which they could reasonably defend. The Republican Party of old had some members with an intellect that was sharp, incisive, and could articulate and maintain a logically cogent argument defending their position.

They were worthy adversaries.

Not so today.

They have allowed themselves to be allied with the lowest sort of political animal; the racists, the religiously intolerant, the worshipers of wealth, the graspers for power at any cost, and the politically ignorant.

This alliance has overwhelmed the Old Guard, and has sent their party down a path which just recently has been realized by them to be one of disaster.

Some voices are being heard now, not many, but a few, trying to change the direction they have been heading for the last thirty-odd years.

They may be too late.

4. We'd be better off as a country if McKinnon represented the typical Republican voter.

Sadly, he'll be savaged by Hate Radio/Fox as a traitor - the rubes will nod in agreement. There is no more sensible Republican Party...ask Lincoln Chafee.
