The Democratic-Farmer-Labor Party, the Minnesota branch of the Democrats, points out that Pawlenty's plan to go Jeff Davis on Obama would be rather bad for Minnesota's veterans:

“It’s sickening to think that Governor Pawlenty would even entertain the thought of using the Constitution to prevent health-insurance reform, and even scarier to think of what that would mean for Minnesota’s veterans who depend on the quality care they receive from the VA.

“As Veterans, we have served the United States , fought to protect the values laid out in the Constitution. As veterans, we know the good that will come with a public option in the health-insurance system because we’ve been successfully receiving quality health care from the VA for years. And as veterans, we cannot sit back and watch as Governor Pawlenty considers such a dangerous and offensive course of action."

But hey, why should Smilin' Tim care about Minnesota?

1. Let the wingnuts secede, but...
Make them all make them all move to Alabama or something, THEN they can secede. Our liberals living there can relocate to blue America.

6. Sorry.
The South is BEAUTIFUL, and it belongs to ALL of us.
In 2006, we moved from Minneapolis to the Rural South.

You can't do THIS in Minnesota.

We have a better plan.

Turn The South Blue!

7. Wow.
What incredibly beautiful photographs. Are you a professional photographer? (If not... think about it!)

8. Not a "professional", but thanks for the kind words.
I learned everything I know in DUs own Photography Group.

9. Every time I see your photos
I think, "I'm in Arkansas too, I need to do that some day."

I live in an apartment, but one day. . .

2. That clinches it: He's running for president in 2012.
To get the nomination in 2012, Repukes who want it have to outbag the teabaggers. That's what this is all about, and the only thing it is all about.

3. So, he plans to deny Minnesota seniors access to Medicare?
And prevent poor kids and adults from getting SCHIP and Medicaid? That would be the morally consistent, intellectually honest course in this case. But then again, he's a Republican.

10. Tiny Tim is posturing for the wingnut base.
He's a lawyer; he knows damn well that his 10th Amendment argument is lame; the issue of whether and to what extent the federal government can regulate vs. what the states can regulate was resolved back in the '30s. But the wingers still love to drag up these stale old states' rights arguments whenever they don't like something the gummint does. Timmy knows better, but he's a cynical prick who knows he has to suck up to the base in order to beat out Ms. Mooseburger for 2012.
