So, When Do WE March FOR Health Insurance Reform?
This issue is too important not to march.

Anything planned?

I sure would like to plan and take some time off to do so.

3. Are these skid marks marching against health insurance reform?
How ironic is that?

For the most part, it's the most unhealthy looking assembly of humanity I've seen in a long time.

I expect several heart attacks or strokes before the day is over.

I thought they were just pissed that a black guy is the pres.

We will be marching on September 13th @ 12:00 PM in every city across the country for affordable healthcare. We demand a public option. Let the president and congress know that we will not accept a watered down bill. Click on events to see locations that are confirmed for the march. We will need help to organize all of these rallies. Please fill out your information in the contact us section if you can help.

6. Don't we have the votes to pass what Obama wants?
Why is there even all of this "discussion" and doubt that this will pass. If we can't do it with the WH, and both houses of Congress,... I mean really. What is the problem?

7. They need a secret super duper majority
Edited on Sat Sep-12-09 11:28 AM by Oregone
Yeah, the Democrats really screwed the pooch by getting 60 in the Senate. They ran out of excuses not to deliver (other than the obvious one: they don't believe in real universal healthcare). The enacted the contingency plan creating a new bad guy amongst them, the Blue Dogs, to blame it on and make the rest look more liberal

15. Where "we" screwed up, was in adjourning the senate for "August break"
Pelosi said several times, that she was willing to keep the house in session.. she gave Reid all the cover he needed. They were up against a deadline, and were apparently "still negotiating".

WE knew what was planned for all those precious town-hall meetings. We may not have known how crazy it would get, but surely our senators were not as blind as they seem to be.

The teabagger freaks had spent months organizing their troops, getting buses lined up, training them..all for the anticipated town hall crashes, and our odd-duck senators & congresspeople just kept their plans to hold the "party", just so the party-crashers could attend. dumb dumb dumb

Our side was sent "out there" to try and defend "nothing specific". vs a devoted , well-trained cadre of screaming-mee-mees, hungry for tv camera face-time.

Imagine how August would have gone, had Reid kept them all in DC. Can;t you just see busloads of angry protesters wandering around America, looking for meetings to disrupt, and finding none..:) All that pent-up faux-rage, with no target to unleash it on:)

And it created a new monster. The Goons of August will be with us forever now. Republicans never let go of a sure-fire winner, and they know now that they can get 100% media attention with this loutish behavior..Joe Wilson proved that..in spades..

12. We already had our march
We marched on November 4, 2008 for real change and health care reform and we won the election. Those who now seek to overturn the results of that election don't really like democracy.

17. A second vote.
Progressives physically voted in November to appoint their representatives. That should have been enough in a democracy, but it appears that it is not.

Now it seems that progressives must vote physically again. This time to win representation for their ideas from their representatives.

Ironic, no?
