18. ...and borrowing and spending USA into debt for generations to come
That was the republicon thang. Rather than tax and spend -- which is at least out front, Republicons flushed America's economy into the crapper with virtually occult borrow-and-spend policies. Thereby passing the debt on to our children and grandchildren.

Daniel Hannan is BRITISH and was born in Peru. ???? They like him because he criticized NHS when interviewed on Fox.

9. You can see a few if you look around the capitol building
I think they're congregating around the reflecting pool, couldn't find any cameras for the area.

Listening to the live feed from CNN it doesn't sound that big, the camera is on the ground so I don't get any real idea of the true size of the crowd.

23. I find that to be horsepuckey.
I was there for 1.2 million (Barack's inauguration). That isn't even close to a normal anti war protest, which went on for blocks and blocks and actually DREW 100-350 thousand.

I was there in 2004, when 1.2 million marched. No comparison. It was jammed.

42. baggers claiming ABC news estimated crowd at 1.5 million- bet that's a lie
the only thing i could find on ABCnews.com is "tens of thousands"

the said there were 450 buses- so at 50 per bus most would be 25,000 plus drivers- i'd say 60,000 sound a bit high.

36. Can you please make this a more prominent post of its own? It's fakery.
The flag would not have been at half mast then suddenly up, or vice versa, nor would the light and clouds change that dramatically in one day (notice the color of the buildings have changed.) WHo is saying that the first pic is from today? Cuz it's probably not.. it's probably from another march.

40. It does look like both shots are from today
Edited on Sat Sep-12-09 02:28 PM by starroute
The trees and bushes are all identical. The streaky clouds are the same. I don't know about that flag, but there's nothing else to suggest the first photo wasn't taken earlier today.

On the other hand, I don't see anything to indicate that the crowd extends more than three blocks away from the camera. The image gets a lot fuzzier past that point, but it also seems less colorful, suggesting we're seeing empty street beyond that tower and not people.

Presuming they've picked a shot from when the tail end of the march was just passing the camera, the figure being tossed around of 20,000-30,000 seems plausible for what appears in that picture.

On edit: The difference in the color of the buildings looks to me more like a screen cap off a different monitor. If it weren't for the bushes, I'd also wonder if it was from an earlier march -- but there haven't been any other marches recently. I think the pic is real, but cherry-picked.

Edited on Sat Sep-12-09 01:16 PM by Generic Other
Excellent question. I made this video from traffic cam footage 9/24/05. When Cindy Sheehan and the Camp Casey Iraq War Protesters arrived in DC. I think mine is among the rare footage of the event. Ironic that Big Brother accidentally recorded a million protesters who descended on Wash DC that day, all ignored by the MSM. Many DUers are in this crowd!

37. Looking at the signs, I'd say they are mostly Ron Paul supporters...
throw in a few Palin supporters, a few Glenn Beck groupies hoping that he'll see them on tv and invite him back to his place for some republican sex (kinky as hell, lots of guilt, public apology when caught.) Throw in some crazy-ass anti-abortion types, a few NRA wackos, and some KKK in street clothes for good measure.
