On this day after 9/11...
How many American soldiers have died in Iraq and Afghanistan? Is there a long list that could be posted here, describing, name, date and service of the individuals who have died in Bush's illegal wars?

The non-hostile vs hostile gets to me....dead is dead.

And I wonder about the non-hostile entries that give no description of what kind of non-hostile..was it from suicide, disease, etc..?? There are some that give a description like "drowning", "car accident". There is one that says "non-hostile-land mine"!! Um, pretty sure planting a land mine for someone to step on/ride over involves some hostile intentions.

3. Looking at some of the ages of those killed makes me tear up
As a mom of an 18 yr old college freshman and a 22 year old college grad who is flying off tomorrow to start a new job I CANNOT EVEN IMAGINE losing either one of them.

8. Yes, but I'm looking for the actual names of every single one.
In list form. From the beginning to today. I want to see how long that list is when posted here.

5. How many civilians who have no blame whatsoever have died?
Edited on Sat Sep-12-09 01:04 PM by lunatica
War is insane. I can't think of another word to describe it better. It's insane to think that war is anything but a crime. If you want to go after the terrorists, then by all means do so. In spite of Cheney's pronouncements litigation has caught more terrorists than his torture has. Go after terrorists themselves, not the innocent civilians who happen to live where terrorists may, maybe, be hiding.

War is for profit. Think about that. When was the last time a war the US created a just war? And by a just war I mean when was the last time this country was in danger from some terrible action another country has taken or some imminent invasion by a country?
