Man, does this rally look familiar
Edited on Sat Sep-12-09 03:10 PM by cfsteak
Sunday, August 9, 1925. "KKK services." The "services" at the Capital Horse Show grounds in Arlington, complete with flaming 80-foot cross, wrapped up the Klan's weekend in Washington. Some 100,000 people from all over the country were thought to have attended.

2. I love the shorpy.com, especially the old east side new york photos
of the immigrants and what they had to go through. Great post.

4. I could sit for hours and look at photos of people I don't even know...LOL..
The pictures of the early 1900s especially interest me as my parents were born in '09 and '10. Rural America was something to behold.

5. Thanks for mentioning the lower east side
I went looking and the photos are amazing.

So many great photos. But this one from Lowell, Mass. kind of reminds me of the mood in the Hopper painting, Nighthawks.
