1. It's called "I'd rather DIE and owe MILLIONS than accept anything from a black guy."

7. I think it's bigger than racism. Although that is certainly a factor. There are a lot of people
afraid of "big government". They see that monster as portrayed by CorpAmerica and CorpMedia as stifling their freedoms. They are gullible to the media blasts. They don't understand what "big government" really means of course. How would they. That would require effort and it is much easier to watch Faux Lies. Most of us are leery of "big government" but some see it in the Patriot Act and others see it in health care reform or a complete take over of health care per the media. Also, the below posters makes a good point. The gullibles have been harangued into believing taxes are bad and are willing to pay 10 times more in other ways.

13. It's a consequence of the binary brain
Republicans and other conservatives are simply incapable of a "maybe" or "halway" - Everything is either yes or no.

So they see, say, the USSR back in the day with its bloated Bureaucracy and gross restrictions on freedom... And in their poor logic and inability to think in medium, deduced that doing the exact opposite of Russia was going to be the greatest thing ever. And they're still working on it, and are still stuck in that paradigm - not the "Obama's a Commie!" meme.

It ties in to their slippery slope argument, where say, using a single stem cell to treat cancer is exactly the same as growing a whole human and chopping it up for organs. They simply can't conceive that life is not a yes no, black white situation

16. If that's the case why didn't they revolt when * and Cheney were in
office? That administration crapped on the Constitution more than Nixon did.

10. More than that, it's "I'd rather owe millions and die rather than have a penny
of MY MONEY go to help some brown person or a LIBERAL get health care!"

4. Depends on whether the doctor is a veterinarian...

You have a point though. That guy might hurt the snake unless someone protects it.

6. Most of the world must surely be tittering uncontrollably in disbelief at the sheer lunacy of the
illogical hate-filled opposition to any meaningful initiative by a Democratic president. :P
