It flies in the face of the capitalism they worship.

What the hell do they think will happen if they simply stop working & bugger off to count their cash? Do they seriously believe that they won't be replaced? Capitalism surely says that if there's a gap in the market, someone will come in to fill it. If some business owner "goes Galt" and shuts up shop do they really think that everyone will simply go Wow, I never realised how useful they actually were, we could really do with having them around now! or is it more likely that another, rival, company will simply move in and take over that market?

Most of the "Galt" types that I've seen frothing on the web simply can't compare themselves to the John Galt character, he was an inventor and a supposedly intelligent businessman. The fuckwits who see themselves as Galt can be described as members of the Petite bourgeoisie at best. Bill Gates, George Soros, Warren Buffett, etc. are the closest comparisons to the fictional Galt, the people who employ thousands not the small business owner who has a couple of part time staff.
