Officer In 100 MPH Crash Sentenced
2 People Seriously Injured In Crash

ALTAMONTE SPRINGS, Fla. -- A former police officer convicted of failing to use due care when he crashed into two people at 100 mph was sentenced Monday.

Mark Maupin, formerly of the Altamonte Springs Police Department, was convicted in August.

On Monday, a judge ruled Maupin to pay a $500 fine for failing to use due care, and $96 for not wearing a seat belt.

Two people were seriously injured in the crash, which happened in November.

Maupin's driver's license was also suspended for three months.
