Fox Nation's Death Threat To Obama Reported To Secret Service

Reader Philip G. just forwarded to us a screen grab from a Fox Nation thread that was an unmistakeable death threat to President Obama. We have reported it to the Secret Service. We have also advised them that we frequently find hostile, threatening comments about Obama and/or his administration that are approved by the moderators. We recently questioned why Fox Nation moderators keep approving racist comments on their threads. Now we have to ask why they approve death threats? Considering the network is so eager to believe that wrongdoing on the part of lower-level workers is a reflection on the organization as a whole, we have to ask the same questions about Fox News. As T Wolf put it, this keeps happening because there are no repercussions. When there begin to be some, things will start to change.

I don't know that you could characterize that as a death threat against Obama. Because of the poor syntax, it's pretty ambiguous.

You can find much clearer examples on the Free Republic site.

against Obama. He doesn't mention other Muslims. He only mentions Obama. We need to stop making excuses for other people and their violent threats and behavior.

Edited because I had posted the threat itself, which is probably not a good idea.

The Superman title is meaningless in the first sentence, but may infer reference to the widely held beleif that Obama supporters think is some sort of superman or even diety.

I see claim that due to Obama, bullets will be more valuable that cash. That is a twist on the claim that Obama will try an eliminate private firearms and ammunition.

I see a warning that bullets can pierce a Koran. That to me is a clear threat to muslims.

Obama is not a muslim, so its not against him.


Regardless, the post is poorly worded as others have pointed out, so analysis is probably fruitless.

I was on Youtube late one Friday Night..... looking at videos of someone who had to pour the junk into the engines.....( Cash for Clunkers )
Car after car...video after video he would cuss and swear about President Obama.
Well, I was ready to post something and I looked...... and just 1 minute behind me, some guy left a message about needing to" take a gun.....blah blah blah.

I captured the screen and called the Secret Service. The guy who answered the phone was very nice...and took my call seriously.
I emailed to him the link and the screen capture on the video.

I, too, have seen more than enough online threats against the President and I'm sick and tired of the assholes on the other end of my internet tube telling me that it's justified because <insert your not-so-subtle racist reason here>.

I think its wrong to foment civil war, sedition, traitors, and gun nuts to violence. Wrong.

A threat is exactly that ... a threat.

Saying that ammo will be worth more than money (which depending on the ammo and money in question already is) is not a threat.

I do have to say that I've seen what is at issue here far too much, however.

It would probably be easier to evaluate if it were shown in context.

But I'm sure it's still worthy of further investigation.

It seems without question a death threat to me. I am really baffled as to how anyone can think otherwise. (They for sure think he's Muslim, just like they think he was born in Kenya.)

With any previous President, people making threats like this would be in jail so fast their heads would spin, but I found it quite disturbing that there were a number of instances of clearly dangerous behavior directed at Obama during the campaign that seemed to be just shrugged off by law enforcement.

That is why they will be so valuable, cuz the teabaggers will empty all their weapons into superman.

PUBLIC air waves? Would someone w/ a spine shut their asses down, fine them a zillion dollars, or reduce their air time?

I'm sick of them spewing hatred and violence.

Teach them a lesson.
