but the fact that he IS a raciest shouldn't sway us from the fact the he is a UNITED STATES CONGRESSMAN! Personal, political, unethical and even asinine beliefs that are deplorable should take a back seat to the fact that HE FUCKED UP!
No one should ever behave like that to the President of the United States, epically a congressman in the middle of a speech to congress. 200 years ago, he would have been hung! and 5 years ago, Cheney would have taken him hunting. It wouldn't have mattered if he was raciest, a terrorist, or a pederast. The issue here is not whether or not the man has an irrational fear of people with a different skin pigment than him. He does. And we, as a nation really need to find a way to deal with that, and the fact that it still exists in 21st century America. But the Issue here is that this man issued a direct, blatant, and unapologetic insult to our President, and as a former member of the US ARMY reserve, HIS commander-in-chief. That needs to be dealt with on its own merit. He was rebuked for violating the rules of decorum of the House of Representatives. It wouldn't have mattered had he said something considered racist (and include me in that group) or he's begun singling "A Star Is Born"...his outburst in a joint session was a violation of House rules and that's what his rebuke was about.

As far as this shitstain's racism...that's up to the people who elected him. They obviously feel comfortable having a racist represent them...or if they didn't know how "old school" he was, then they will have a chance next year to toss him out of office.
