Baucus' bill: I want to trade Obama's "Yes we can" for Howard Dean's "we can do better than that"
Edited on Wed Sep-16-09 11:59 AM by DFW
Obligate low- and middle-income citizens to choose between paying for health insurance and feeding their families? And then fine them if they make the "wrong" choice? What kind of a choice is THAT? Can we accept that as the Senate's final word? NO WE CAN'T. I'm REALLY curious to hear Obama's take on this. Like Howard says: WE CAN DO BETTER THAN THAT. The last thing I want to see right now is our first black president waving a white flag.

1. Your headline sounds like Obama has morphed into Baucus,
and Howard Dean can now win elections?

3. Considering what has gone down of late
I'd bet Howard could indeed win an election or two. Too bad he doesn't live in Connecticut, for example. Next year, Vermont would have three Senators!

2. " Better than that" would be Single Payer...
and I do not think Single Payer is what Baucus has in mind.

4. As far as I can tell, exactly one person likes this bill
Max Baucus. The Republicans won't go for it, and neither will anyone else. The only people who think this is IMPORTANT are the corporate media.
