The bill is garbage and a giveaway to the insurance industry. The Senate liberals won't support it either, and I don't see the White House putting up much of a fight for it either. The bill will go nowhere.

And that is a good thing. Now that we have gone through the motions with Baucus's naive and futile efforts at bipartisanship, we can move on to the real business of a getting a bill done. We have already proven that we tried in good faith to get Republican support and made concession after concession. So now we can go to the reconciliation process, let 9 or 10 Democrats go and do what they have to do (I'm assuming 10 if we get a Massachusetts Senator to Washington by November), and pass a real health care bill.

People care about policy and results. Only dweebs and the Washington inside baseball crowd cares about process issues.

5. Actually
The GOP trapped itself in its own noise machine, from which treason against the GOP is the only escape. The whipped up hysteria and witchhunts are set to accuse any repuke that goes along as a RINO no matter what kind of bill is put forth.

Baucus was an idiot for trying to get some support for a bill no self-respecting Democrat would back.

The repukes know this and want to recapitalize on their opposition to Obama by painting all opposition to this bill as coming from the right and squelching the volume of progressive opponents. If they suddenly switch and support a bill, any bill that gets then crushed publically and oppenly by progressives they will look confused and idiotic. (Kind of like they are)

The best thing we could do is shut down the Blue Dogs and Evan Bayh's 'moderate working group' and Baucus' stupid gang of six.
