ACORN is going after O'Keefe and FOX
I have looked around for a link, but can't find one.

The Today Show ran the ACORN story and it didn't put FOX or O'Keefe in a good light.

They mentioned that ACORN CEO said that it was a smear campaign that was ultimately aimed to politacally hurt President Obama.

The CEO also mentioned that they were going to take legal action against the film maker (I assume to be O'Keefe) and FOX. (She mentioned fox by name.)

I look forward to the depositions being published. :)

I am also glad this is hitting MSM. I just heard the same story on CBS radio. :)

1. What I've read
In skimming DU this morning is that the Maryland 'sting' was filming employees that treated it as a joke and they were playing along and you would know that if you saw the unedited footage.

And I saw a link to Jon Stewart who covered it as if that was not the case and the employees were really trying to help the pimp with his child prostitute ring.

Also saw on DU the same subject, but a West Coast Acorn office where the employee was talking about murdering her husband and there was copius links to all the Fox hate news usual suspects self righteously playing it to confirm just how despicable this ACORN outfit really was.

So I'm confused.

But I suspect the whole affair may blow up in Fox' faces!

Couldn't happen to a nicer bunch of fascist propagandists!

9. Too bad some of the offices immediately fired the workers in question
Acorn probably won't get much cooperation out of people who were thrown under the bus at the first hint of trouble.

from a vine in the jungle.

I might have the wrong connection. I was thinking Tarzan the Ape Man star. And quoted the Kinks song.

My bad.

6. Being under attack now for months, when has ACORN ever played "hardball"? They're doormats.

8. Oh, I don't know.
Illegal surveillance. Fraud. Slander. Entrapment.

10. I'm pretty sure that the elements of the crimes of fraud, slander and entrapment were not met.

No fraud because they didn't defraud ACORN of anything.

No slander if they simply play the tape and say nothing false.

And entrapment is term applied to law enforcement.

But I'm not familiar with the illegal surveillance charge. I know in some states one cannot record conversations without permission of all parties. Perhaps that could stick if applicable.

12. I'm with Jon Stewart on this one.
I've got no reason to defend ACORN at all. Why should I? Because...uh...aren't they like...with Obama...or something? Corruption is corruption, and I could care less who exposes it.

13. Let me ask you something
Do you believe that the entire ACORN organization is corrupt or just some of the people that worked for them?

14. I simply don't know yet.
All I know is that four sets of ACORN staff in four different cities were more than happy and more than comfortable to assist with highly illegal and dangerous activity. Seriously. They didn't even flintch. My jury is still out, and for very good reason.
