In skimming DU this morning is that the Maryland 'sting' was filming employees that treated it as a joke and they were playing along and you would know that if you saw the unedited footage.
And I saw a link to Jon Stewart who covered it as if that was not the case and the employees were really trying to help the pimp with his child prostitute ring.
Also saw on DU the same subject, but a West Coast Acorn office where the employee was talking about murdering her husband and there was copius links to all the Fox hate news usual suspects self righteously playing it to confirm just how despicable this ACORN outfit really was.
So I'm confused.
But I suspect the whole affair may blow up in Fox' faces!
Couldn't happen to a nicer bunch of fascist propagandists!
10. I'm pretty sure that the elements of the crimes of fraud, slander and entrapment were not met.
No fraud because they didn't defraud ACORN of anything.
No slander if they simply play the tape and say nothing false.
And entrapment is term applied to law enforcement.
But I'm not familiar with the illegal surveillance charge. I know in some states one cannot record conversations without permission of all parties. Perhaps that could stick if applicable.
I've got no reason to defend ACORN at all. Why should I? Because...uh...aren't they like...with Obama...or something? Corruption is corruption, and I could care less who exposes it.
All I know is that four sets of ACORN staff in four different cities were more than happy and more than comfortable to assist with highly illegal and dangerous activity. Seriously. They didn't even flintch. My jury is still out, and for very good reason.
