Poll question: Cable and Satellite TV volume legislation
Ever sit in front of your TV, with family/friends/lovers, or your favorite pet, watching a nice movie, a good Daily Show episode, or even the news with Rachel or Keith, and then it happens,

A GODDAMNED LOUD FUCKING AD COMES ON, TWICE OR THREE TIMES THE VOLUME OF THE ACTUAL SHOW.

(please excuse me for shouting. That was inappropriate without any warning. Just like those FUCKING ADS)

If any politician, of any political party, with any political beliefs would have the balls, or ovaries sufficient to take on Cable/SatTV and force them to limit all advertising volume to 80% of the average volume maintained during last 5 minutes of the show preceding the ad, I would personally take out my check book, look at the balance, and send that person money. Big money. All I could afford.

Who here would support advertising volume legislation on cable/satTV?

1. Fuck 'em. Get rid of cable. Think for your self and read a book.

6. Since that won't happen
for the vast majority of Americans what is a more 'realistic' suggestion? I know many people that have never read a book in their entire lives.

4. Some of it is just the cable company not balancing the sound on the local ads they throw in.
But there are some channels where it's blatantly done in house. AMC is one of the worst offenders.

Now having said that, it's not even in my top 5 lists of things I'd like to beat the shit out of someone at Comcast for.

5. With All Do Respect I Disagree on this Issue....
I understand this may be annoying and in fact I agree with you that it is. Yet my concern is that by the Government involving themselves is this issue which of extremely little importance, In my opinion, this would just explode in the talking points of Obama trying to turn this into a Socialist country by making Government control everything. I know this sounds absurd to us liberals but there are those rightwing nuts out there that make a big deal of this, which in turn could change the minds of our on the fence, independent voters who came out for Obama big in this last election.

I know not everything is about the election, ecspecially now when we have so many issues of great importance to finally get solved!!!

:hi:
